Darnley Bay

The Darnley Bay is a large bay on the southern side of the Amundsen Gulf in the Northwest Territories (Canada) with a mouth width of 32 km, the 45 km cuts deep into the country.

To the west lies the Parry Peninsula, east begins with Halcro Point of the Canadian Shield. The terrain rises slightly and there is dominated by glacial deposits. The Hornaday River flows 14 km east of Inuit settlement in the south of Paulatuk in the bay.

The Darnley Bay was first described in the context of the Canadian Arctic Expedition 1913-1918 in 1915 in more detail.
