Darrell's Island, Bermuda

, Sometimes also called Darell Darell 's Iceland Iceland is an island of Bermuda, located in the southeast of the Great Sound ( Great Sound ), about 600 meters north before Grand Bermuda. The island is part of the administrative area of ​​Warwick Parish.

Darell 's Iceland is flat and narrow, about 750 meters long and 120 meters wide on average. It forms the largest and easternmost member of a small chain of islands belonging to the still ( from west to east ) Grace Iceland, Iceland Rickett 's and Burt's Iceland. The latter is only 100 meters west of Darell 's Iceland.

On today only sparsely built-up island was located from 1930 to 1948, built by one of the former British airline Imperial Airways flying boat station. This initially served as a civil airport, and later as a military base of the Royal Air Force.

Since closure of the air base on Darell 's Iceland (1948 ), the only Bermudan airport is 15 km to the north-eastern island of Saint David's.
