Darren Almond

Darren James Almond ( * 1971 in Appley Bridge, Lancashire, England) is a London resident artists.

Life

Darren Almond earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts at the Winchester School of Art in southern England in 1993. Initially he worked in various media, especially photography and film to explore the effect of time on the human individual. He participated in the important exhibition part Sensation, where works by all major young British artists were shown. He represented Great Britain in 2003 at the Venice Biennale. He has had solo exhibitions at the Tate Gallery and the Nicola Trussardi Foundation. 2012 showed the Folkwang Museum along with David Claerbout and Anri Sala some of his film installations. The artist is represented by the Matthew Marks Gallery in New York.
