Darren Lockyer ( born March 24, 1977 in Brisbane ) is an Australian rugby league player and captain of the Australian Rugby League team, the State of Origin teams of Queensland and his National Rugby League team, the Brisbane Broncos.

Lockyer is one of the best Rugby League player of all time. Since 2009 he holds the record for most missions, and since 2010 for most tests in the Australian Rugby League team.

Lockyer plays since 2004 on the position of the connecting Halbs ( Five -eighth ). He had previously played at the position of the circuit 's ( fullback ). At his NRL team, the Brisbane Broncos, he holds the record for most stakes and most attempts.

Lockyer is one of two rugby players, who won the Golden Boot twice, a price that the best players awarded each year worldwide.
