Darrous

Darrous is a district in the north of Tehran. It is bordered by the Pasdaran, Gholhak, Doulat and Ekhtiyarieh district.

Before 1950, most of the land belonged in this district - gardens and estates - the aristocrats and landowners from the Qajar Haj Mehdi Gholi Khan Hedayat ( Mokhber -ol Saltaneh ). He held high offices and was during the constitutional period governor of Fars and Aserbajdschan. From 1927 to 1933 he served under Reza Shah Pahlavi as Prime Minister.

Several facilities of the district were named after him, such as a mosque, a medical clinic and a school, each lying in the named also after him Hedayat Street.
