Scissor -tailed Torpedogrundeln ( Ptereleotris evides )

The Pfeilgrundeln ( Ptereleotridae ) family, also called Torpedogrundeln, occurs in the Caribbean and the tropical and subtropical Indo-Pacific. One way Parioglossus multiradiatus, lives in the Seychelles in freshwater.

Features

Pfeilgrundeln have an elongated thin body, are 6 to 18 inches long and have two dorsal fins, the first with six hard jets, the second with a hard and 9-37 soft rays. Your mouth is constantly above. Many species are brightly colored. Schwertgrundeln keep in flocks high above the ground, where they prey on zooplankton.

The Pfeilgrundeln were formerly known as subfamily Ptereleotrinae to Wurmgrundeln ( Microdesmidae ) counted.
