The network damsel ( Dascyllus reticulatus ) is a species of the family of damselfish (Pomacentridae ). The fish live in the coral reefs of the tropical western Pacific and the eastern Indian Ocean at depths of one to 50 meters.

Dissemination

The range extends from the Cocos Islands on the coast of Western Australia, Indonesia, the Gulf of Thailand, South China Sea, the coasts of the Philippines, Taiwan, the Ryukyu Islands, southern Japan and Polynesia, with the exception of Hawaii, the Society Islands and the east lying islands. In most of the Indian Ocean it is replaced by the closely related White-tailed damsel ( Dascyllus carneus ).

Features

Network Prussia fish are 6.5 inches long. They have high backs and bright, mostly brownish color. The scales edges are darker. Head and fins are mostly dark. Behind the head shows a dark cross band. Along the lateral line organ they have 20 scales. The number of gill Reuse extensions is 24 to 29

Way of life

The fish live in coral and rock reefs and bushy sticks of hard coral species, especially of Pocillopora eydouxi. They feed mainly on zooplankton.
