Daughters of St. Paul

The Daughters of St. Paul ( Latin: Congregation Filiarum Sancti Pauli, religious symbol FSP) are a Roman Catholic congregation of women founded on June 15, 1915 by Blessed James Alberione in Alba (Northern Italy), for the proclamation of the Gospel through mass media.

History

The Daughters of St. Paul are the first female branch of the Pauline Family,. Their start in the founding of the Society of St. Apostle Paul ( brothers and priests ), on 20 August 1914 by the Italian priest Giacomo Alberione has. The first Superior General Tecla Teresa Merlo was appointed in 1922. The Church's approval was for the Daughters of St. Paul on March 15, 1953 by Pope Pius XII. Today the 2500 Daughters of St. Paul are represented on all continents in 50 countries. In Germany 16 Paul's sisters live in three branches: Nuremberg (headquarters), Ingolstadt and Dusseldorf.

Mission

The aim of the Congregation is to " spread the Gospel through mass media ." They live and teach according to the Pauline theology.
