Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree

The Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree is a tree view in the Warren National Park in the south west of Australia.

This is not a Karribaum the prospect trees, which serves the fire observation. It was expanded in 1988 to a lookout tree, as part of the 200 - year celebration of the European settlement of the Australian continent. At this time, this tree was probably understood already growing.

The platform at the upper end is 75 m in height, while the first platform is already available on 25 m. Over 130 steel bars and four conductors within the platforms, each with 26 rungs can reach the highest platform that oscillates around 1.5 meters in any direction in a strong wind. From the top you have a view which extends 40 kilometers into the land in good weather.

The tree is named after Dave Evans, a teacher, politicians and residents of Pemberton. He wrote a book entitled lookouts of the Karri Country. He had a special interest in view of trees, so-called tree towers. Dave Evans was in 1994 with the Order of Australia (OA ) awarded, for special services for the state.
