Dave Gibbons

Dave Gibbons ( born April 14, 1949) is a British illustrator who draws comics since 1973.

Life and achievements

He began his work in this area for the influential British magazine 2000 AD and illustrated comics known as Doctor Who, Harlem Heroes, Dan Dare and the co-founders of Rogue Trooper. In 1982, he began to draw the Green Lantern for the American publisher DC Comics; Since then he has drawn in addition to numerous other DC series for Superman and Batman.

1986/1987 he founded, along with Alan Moore, the highly acclaimed and awarded a Hugo twelve -part series Watchmen; one of the first comic cycles at all, which was published as a graphic novel. Among his many other works is the miniseries Give Me Liberty ( in collaboration with Frank Miller) and the graphic novel The Originals.

Dave Gibbons was also responsible for the graphic design of the computer game Beneath a Steel Sky.

He is married and lives with his wife and a son in England.
