Dave Lojek

Dave Lojek ( born October 5, 1975 in Berlin (East) ) is a German filmmaker, festival organizer, film critic and author.

Life

Dave Lojek studied at Humboldt University in Berlin English / American Studies and Cultural Studies. He wrote and published since 1995, also poems and directs young authors in writing workshops at. After graduating, he devoted himself to the medium of film autodidact.

Since 2005, he mainly produces his own short films and documentaries under the label Apeiron film. He directs and cuts the movies themselves mostly His films were among others at the International Short Film Festival Hamburg, Filmfest Dresden and the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival shown.

Lojek organizes annual workshops film (so-called " KinoKabarets " ) under the non-commercial movement cinema in Berlin. Since 2012 Lojek works as first Chairman of the Video and Film Association Berlin / Brandenburg eV within the Federal Association of German Film Authors and coordinates five other author film festivals in the capital. These include the Eulenspiegeleien ( humor and satire), the video clip competition, the country's Berlin Film Festival, the Frech- Frivolous festival as well as the ars cinema eV organized International Short Film Festival with Eastern European and Slavic focus. Lojeks free movie KinoBerlino initiative offers young filmmakers a monthly forum for their work in Germany's oldest cinema Moviemento.
