Dave Weiner

Dave Weiner (born 24 September 1976) is an American guitarist who plays as a rhythm guitarist in Steve Vai's band.

Vai's band

Weiner joined Vai's band when he went to the GIT in Los Angeles. During his time there he worked as a clerk. His office boss knew Steve Vai. Weiner brought papers to Vais house and met the guitarist so personally. About two weeks later, his boss got a call from Vai and Weiner was offered to come to Vai's studio to learn 14 songs and touring with him. Weiner plays both Vais solo tours as well as tours of the group G3.

Solo

Weiner 2004 brought his first solo album called Shove the Sun Aside out. It was published in June 2004 when Jane Meyer Music label and was re-released in March 2005 by Favored Nations. It is an instrumental album, on which Weiner mainly plays a seven-string guitar. Weiner also tours with his own band. Critics call the solo work as " something new " in the genre of instrumental rock / guitar music.

His new solo album A Collection Of Short Stories: Vol 1 was released in August 2012.
