Davey Arthur

Davey Arthur (* September 24 1954 in Donegal) is an Irish folk musician, singer and songwriter.

Life

Davey Arthur moved at the age of two years to Scotland, where he started at the age of 8 years to make music. At 18, he went back to Ireland and composed his own pieces. In the early 70s he was a member of the group The Buskers, but only by joining the Irish folk band The Fureys 1976 he became world famous. In 1992 he left the group to pursue his solo career. Since then he has worked on various musical projects and has a private program on tour. Davey Arthur is one of the world's best banjo player.

Overall, Davey Arthur author of over 40 compositions, which were published on 28 albums. Several records were certified gold or platinum. In addition, there are works by him on numerous Irish Folk - samplers.
