David Armstrong-Jones, Viscount Linley

David Albert Charles Armstrong -Jones, Viscount Linley ( born November 3, 1961 in London), commonly known as David Linley known, is an English furniture designer and entrepreneur. Since 2006 he has been Chairman of the London auction house Christie's. As the son of Princess Margaret, he is number 17 for the throne of the United Kingdom.

Life

Linley was born in Clarence House and visited the boarding school Bedales School in East Hampshire. After learning the carpenter craft at Parnham House School in 1985 he founded the company David Linley Furniture Ltd.. and began with individual productions most exclusive wood and upholstered furniture. Today, the company sells its products under the brand name LINLEY and also includes home accessories in the range. Since 1 December 2006, he is CEO of the auction house Christie's in London.

Linley is the son of Princess Margaret, the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II, and Antony Armstrong - Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon. As a nephew of the monarch he is number 17 of succession and will inherit the title of Earl of Snowdon by his father.

On October 8, 1993 he married Serena Alleyne Stanhope, daughter of Charles Stanhope, 12th Earl of Harrington.
