David Chotjewitz

David Chotjewitz ( born May 14, 1964 in Berlin ) is a German writer and theater director.

Life

David Chotjewitz is the second son of the writer Peter O. Chotjewitz and journalist Renate Chotjewitz - Häfner. 1967 the family moved to Rome, where Chotjewitz grew to 1973. He attended the Italian primary school, and later the German School in Rome. In 1973 he moved with his parents and his brother in the small village in northern Hesse Kruspis. Until 1981 he attended the school in Bad Hersfeld.

1982 Chotjewitz began training as a publisher, first in Munich Weismann publishing, in the spring of 1984 Random House, Reinbek.

In 1983 he married and the daughter Sarah was born.

The young adult novel Daniel Half Human was successful under the English title Daniel Half Human and the USA.

1999 staged Chotjewitz with The one-eyed carp on a story by Kenzaburo Oe his first theater work. In 2000 he founded the theater: Playstation, with whom he die produced projects such as Blood on the Dancefloor in a techno - disco and in cooperation with Kampnagel Die, pop star. In 2008, he realized the project authority for favorite songs.

He lives in Hamburg.

Awards

Chotjewitz received for his literary work, etc. 1996 Literature Prize of the City of Hamburg, a grant from the Royal Norwegian Foundation in 1997 and in 2006 the scholarship of the Stuttgart writers house.
