David Daniels (countertenor)

David Daniels ( born March 12, 1966 in Spartanburg, South Carolina) is an American opera singer and one of the most well-known representative of the voting compartment countertenor.

Life

He began his career as a choirboy and later as a tenor. He studied music at the College - Conservatory of Music Cincinnati. Since his results as a tenor was not satisfied with him, Daniels moved during its construction period of study at the University of Michigan in the countertenor tray.

In 1999 he made ​​his debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Sesto in Giulio Cesare. His repertoire now includes a variety of Handel operas. These include the title role in Giulio Cesare and Tamerlano, Arsace in Partenope and Serse Arsamene in and Bertarido in Rodelinda.
