David Christopher DeJesus ( born December 20, 1979 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American baseball player, baseball is since November 2010 with the Oakland Athletics in Major League contract. Previously, he played in 2003 for the Kansas City Royals.
Career
David DeJesus was selected as a high school player in the 43rd round of the MLB Draft in 1997 by the New York Mets. He rejected their contract offer from but to instead aground three years for the team of Rutgers University. In MLB Draft 2000, he was finally obliged in the fourth round by the Kansas City Royals, for whom he made his debut in Major League Baseball on 2 September 2003. In the voting for the Rookie of the Year 2004, the left fielder was elected to sixth place.
On 9 March 2004 DeJesus extended his contract with the Kansas City Royals for a further five years until the 2010 season ( with an option for a further year by the club ) worth $ 13.8 million. On 10 November 2010, the Royals DeJesus transferred in exchange for Vin Mazzaro and Justin Marks to the Oakland Athletics.
