David E. H. Jones

David EH Jones ( born April 20, 1938 also known as Daedalus ) is a British chemist, journalist and author. He is the inventor in the fictional company DREADCO. The column of Daedalus began in the mid 1960s and was published in the weekly magazine New Scientist. Later he joined the journal Nature, and continued to work there for several years continued. Jones ' posts under the pseudonym Daedalus are related to the pataphysics. Similarities to the glosses of the historian Cyril Northcote Parkinson are also evident. The "inventions", the Daedalus imagines in his column, are often useless. 1962 doctorate Jones to Doctor ( Ph.D. ) in organic chemistry at Imperial College London. In 1974 he worked at the UK's University of Newcastle.
