David H. D. Warren

David HD Warren is a British computer scientist.

He earned his doctorate in 1977 for Ph.D. Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh.

In the 1970s and 1980s he worked on Logic programming, and in particular the programming language Prolog, for which he wrote the first compiler. The specially developed model of an ideal processor is named after him Warren's Abstract Machine.

Warren was then in the 1980s at the Artificial Intelligence Center (SRI International, San Francisco ) were employed.
