David Hestenes

David Orlin Hestenes ( born 1933 ) is an American physicist.

Hestenes in 1963 at the University of California, Los Angeles ( UCLA) PhD and spent 30 years as a professor at Arizona State University where he is Professor Emeritus today.

Hestenes is known for its program of geometric algebra ( Clifford algebra ), with whom he wants to make a reformulation of the presentation of the theoretical physics popular.

From 1976 to 1979 he was associate editor of the American Journal of Physics. In 2002 he received the Oersted Medal.

He is the son of Magnus Hestenes.
