David Holton

David Holton ( born 1946 ) is a British Neogräzist and Professor of Modern Greek at the University of Cambridge.

Life

Holton is a member of the Selwyn College and the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages ​​at the University of Cambridge. He works both literary studies to the genus of the Byzantine romance novel, especially the Erotokritos to early printing and Venetokratie ( the rule of the city state of Venice over Crete and Cyprus) as well as linguistically on the history and current structure of Greek.

Together with Geoffrey Horrocks and with the participation of Panagiotis Toufexis passes Horrocks present a research project to develop the world's first grammar of the vernacular Greek of the Middle Ages.
