David McCalden

William David McCalden ( born September 20, 1951 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, † October 15, 1990 in El Segundo, California ) was a British right-wing politicians, and later became one of the leading international Holocaust deniers.

McCalden was born in Belfast, but left in 1972 to his hometown to study at Goldsmiths College, University of London. As a member of the right-wing British National Front, for which he also served as editor of the party newspaper Nationalist News, he was first politically active. In 1976, he left the National Front to join the order of John Kingsley Read, the former chairman of the National Front, led National Party. Again he wrote for the party journal, Britain First. Among his other works from this period include the Beacon Journal and the book Nuremberg and Other War Crimes Trials (Nuremberg and other war crimes processes, 1978). This book, however, he wrote under the pseudonym " Richard Harwood ", which had also used the British Holocaust denier Richard Verrall.

1978 emigrated McCalden to California. With the veteran American neo-Nazi Willis Carto founded the Institute for Historical Review ( IHR), of which he was appointed as director and chief editor. Here, he worked mostly under the name " Brandon Lewis ". According to his co-founders of the IHR is a research center for all serious historians. However, it only published materials that address the denial of the Holocaust, and is not recognized by historians as a serious research institution. McCalden was the leading organizer of the activities of the IHR, thereby founding his reputation as one of the most persistent advocates of Holocaust denial.

Nevertheless, the relationship between McCalden and Carto and 1981 worsened after he had a falling out with Carto, the IHR McCalden left and formed his own group, "Truth mission." As their leader, he published more journals, including revisionist reprints, news and Holocaust revisionist David McCalden 's newsletter, and books, including The Amazing, Rapidly Shrinking "Holocaust" (1987). He was attacked during a meeting in Los Angeles and severely beaten in 1989. The blame for this attack he gave Irv Rubin and the Jewish Defense League.

David McCalden died at age 39 of pneumonia and AIDS in El Segundo, California.
