David McKienzie

David McKienzie ( born July 5, 1979 in Denver) is an American volleyball player.

Career

David McKienzie comes from a volleyball family. His father, William, who died of cancer in 1997, was also a national player in the U.S.. His sister, Joy, who is now married to the beach volleyball Matthew Fuerbringer, finally persuaded him to play volleyball. He began his career at the Huntington Beach High School. In 1997, he went together with Joy to the California State University, Long Beach, whose team he played until 2001. 2001 won McKienzie with the U.S., the volleyball tournament of the Universiade and joined the Austrian first division Aon hotVolleys Vienna. In the same year he made his debut in the senior national team, where he initially worked but not successful. After each played one season in the Greek Orestiada and the Italian club Isernia volley, his 2005, his first success was with the national team, which prevailed in the NORCECA Championship. The following season, the middle blocker played in the Polish league at AZS Częstochowa. With the U.S. team, he participated in the 2006 World Cup. He then went for a season in Turkey for Fenerbahçe SK. In 2007, he turned away after a few personnel changes from the national team. The next year he played in Puerto Rico in Corozal Plata Nero and in between the Kuwait Club. He also completed several tournaments in beach volleyball. In 2008 he was committed by the Russian club Dynamo Krasnodar UK before he moved on to Al- Jazira Club in the United Arab Emirates a year later. Most recently, he was active in Kuwait Sporting Club. In 2011, he missed even a return to the national team, but in 2012 he was called back and was part of the squad for the Olympic Games in London.
