David Milch
David Milch ( born March 23, 1945 in Buffalo, New York) is an American screenwriter and producer.
Life
David Milch made at Yale with a degree in English, then earned his master in the Iowa Writer's Workshop and taught nine years at Yale. He worked with Robert Penn Warren, whom he describes as his mentor, and with RWB Lewis and Cleanth Brooks and published in accordance with prestigious literary magazines.
1982 wrote milk for the series Hill Street Blues the script to the episode Trial by Fury, who opened with the third season of the series. For the screenplay, he received an Emmy, the Writers Guild Award and the Humanitas Prize.
He remained active screenwriter, with the short-lived series Beverly Hills Buntz and Capital News he gained experience as a co-creator. With the launched in 1993 and in 2005 discontinued batch New York Cops - NYPD Blue he then scored the first big success as a co-creator. From 2004 to 2006 then the completely based on his ideas Deadwood series ran on HBO.
Successor series as John from Cincinnati were mostly with little success, Luck 2012 has been set during the filming of the second season, after there had been three deaths of horses during filming and also the odds were rather moderate.
