David Narey

David Narey ( born June 12, 1956 in Dundee, Scotland ) is a former Scottish footballer. He could play both in defense and in midfield.

Career

Narey played for 21 years ( 1973-1994 ) for the Scottish first division club Dundee United and in the 1994/95 season for another year for Raith Rovers. 1983 Narey was with Dundee Scottish champion, 1980 and 1981, he won the League Cup. 1987 reached the team the final of the UEFA Cup where they lost against IFK Göteborg. Overall Narey completed 865 appearances for Dundee, of which 612 are in the highest Scottish League and 76 games in the European Cup.

Narey completed 35 games for the Scottish national football team and participated in the World Championships in 1982 and 1986. Overall, he came up with five appearances in the Football World Cup, his only international goal he achieved at the 1982 World Cup against Brazil.

1992 Narey was honored for his contributions to the sport with the Order MBE.
