David Nash (rugby union)

David Nash ( born July 15, 1939 in Monmouth, Monmouthshire ) is a former Welsh rugby union player and coach.

Nash played as a number eight six times for Wales. He made his debut in 1960 against South Africa, the last game he played in 1962 against France. In 1962, he was also in the squad of the British Lions in their tour of Southern Africa. In the Tests against South Africa and British East Africa, he did not play. He only played against the Leopards, the Currie Cup team Northern Transvaal and the selection of Rhodesia.

1967 Nash became the first full-time coach of the Welsh national team. In the five games under him the team won only one game. The Welsh Association decided not to let him travel with the team to New Zealand. He then resigned and was replaced by Clive Rowlands.
