David Riazanov

David Borisovich Ryazanov (Russian Давид Борисович Рязанов, actually David Borisovich gold roof, Давид Борисович Гольдендах; born March 10, 1870 in Odessa, Ukraine, † January 21, 1938 in Saratov ) in his youth was a populist and later Marxist.

Life

At the suggestion of Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Dietz Ryazanov was commissioned by August Bebel to make extensive checks and supplements for Bebel's book The Woman and Socialism. Bebel thanked for the " comprehensive tool" of " N. Rjasanoff " in the processing of change for the 50th edition, 1909.

His wife Anna Lvovna Rjasanowa fought since 1931 for a rehabilitation of her husband. It was in 1937 when " a woman enemy of the people ", was sentenced to eight years in a prison camp and not informed of its release on the fate of David Ryazanov. The case could be rolled only under Khrushchev. Both Ryazanov were rehabilitated in 1958. But it was only in 1989/90 were reversed Ryazanov exclusions from the party and the Academy of Sciences.

From Ryazanov, who was at that time in Germany with Karl Kautsky and Carl Grünberg in correspondence, is a commentary on the non-printed in the German edition of Marx-Engels- work edition work of Karl Marx "Revelations of the diplomatic history of the eighteenth century", which was from 1856 to 1857 published in the newspaper " the Free Press " by David Urquhart.

Ryazanov case also found mention in the audio book " Marx & Engels intimate ", which published Gregor Gysi, Harry Rowohlt, Annathal Bach and the brothers Akstinat 2009.

Quote

"I am not a Bolshevik, Menshevik, I 'm not, I 'm not a Leninist. I am only a Marxist, and, as a Marxist, I am a communist. "
