David Rowe-Beddoe, Baron Rowe-Beddoe

David Rowe - Beddoe Sydney, Baron Rowe - Beddoe ( born December 19, 1937) is a British politician and life peer, sitting as a Cross Bencher in the House of Lords.

Early life

David Rowe - Beddoe is the son of Sydney Rowe - Beddoe and Dolan Evans.

Rowe - Beddoe went to the Cathedral School in Llandaff in Wales, where in 1951 he won the Victor Ludorum. He then went to the Stowe School in Buckingham, England. and studied at St John 's College (Cambridge).

In 1964, he married Malinda Collison, they have three daughters. In 1982, they were divorced. In 1984 he married again, Madeleine Harrison.

Career

Rowe - Beddoes career in business began in 1961 when Thomas De La Rue; he went there on up to the CEO, he was from 1971 to 1976. In Revlon, he was 1976-1981 President for Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. From 1983 to 1991 he was president at Morgan Stanley.

Rowe - Beddoe became known as a businessman based in Monaco and as a fundraiser for the Tories, when he was appointed to a Welsh Quango. Rowe - Beddoe was appointed in July 1993 as Chairman of the Welsh Development Agency, a post which he held for nine years. Because of its commitment to the WDA in 2000 he was knighted.

2001 Sir David Rowe - Beddoe was appointed Chairman of the Wales Millennium Centre, a post he still holds today.

In 2004 he was appointed President of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Him the Beacon Prize was awarded for his commitment to the economic and social development in Wales 2005.

In 2006, he was raised as Baron Rowe - Beddoe of Kilgetty for Life Peer.

Lord Rowe - Beddoe, 2007, Pro- Chancellor of the University of Glamorgan.

Lord Rowe - Beddoe is vice chairman of the UK Statistics Authority.
