David Smith (hammer thrower)

David Smith (David W. "Dave" Smith, born November 2, 1974 in Grimsby ) is a former British hammer thrower.

At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and the World Athletics Championships 1997 in Athens, he was eliminated in the qualifying. In 1998 he was for England starting at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur fifth.

He was English Champion 1996. His personal best of 75.10 meters he set up in Bedford on 27 May 1996.
