David Will

David Will, CBE ( born November 20, 1936 in Edzell; † 25 September 2009) was a Scottish sports official.

Life

Will played in his youth active football, had to give up his career but after a skiing accident and became a lawyer. He was more than twenty years as chairman of Brechin City FC and from 1983, first vice-president and since 1984 President of the Scottish Football Association SFA. Between 1984 and 1986 he also served on the Executive Committee of UEFA. In 1990 he moved to the FIFA Executive Committee and has been a FIFA vice- president. During his work for FIFA, he worked on the Football World Cup 2002 in Japan and Korea and 2006 in Germany.

Will was appointed in 2002 Commander of the Order of the British Empire and in 2007 the FIFA vice- president honorary.
