Davood Roostaei

Davood Roostaei (* 1959 in Malayer, Iran) is a painter and founder of the Cryptorealism.

Biography

In 1974 he received an award as a miniaturist. 1977 Roostaei has finished high school and began studying art at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Tehran. 1981 was followed by a cultural tour to Egypt, India, Russia. He was persecuted politically and came in detention in Iran. In 1984 was the resumption of studies in Cologne.

1988 had Roostaei first solo exhibitions in: Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Hanover and Cologne. In 1990, the Cryptorealism. 2004 was followed by other exhibitions in Berlin, Hamburg, Bonn, Frankfurt, Dubai, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Paris, Monaco, Rome and Nimes ( France).
