De As

De As, abbreviation for: de Anarcho- Socialist ( proper name: de AS) is a Dutch anarchist magazine and has been published since 1974 with different thematic issues.

Appearing since about 40 years journal is published four times a year by the Foundation de AS in Moerkapelle. Each issue is devoted to a specific topic. The No. 132 dealt for example with the subject of Africa; # 136 tolerance; No. 157 authors and anarchism and the # 158 on the topic Dutch anarchists in the Second World War. In December 1972, the first edition appeared with the subtitle journal for politics and culture to No. 5 with the note Anarcho Socialist magazine nr appeared. 6; from No. 7 to No. 12 it was subtitled Anarchist magazine and issue No. 13-73 turn Anarcho Socialist magazine. The No. 74 appeared with the already earlier subtitle Anarchist magazine, she has contributed hold to this day.

Once a year, the Foundation publishes a yearbook which published each have different contents: anarchism and social movements; on poverty in the Netherlands; Spanish anarchist filmmaker; about the anarchist sympathies for George Orwell and other topics.

Objective and Editorial

Objective of de AS is to develop a critical perspective on the social situation of politics to art, with non-dogmatic approach. From 1973 to 1983 Anton Levien Constandse worked for the magazine as editor. Today's editors: Marius de Geus, Jaap van der Laan, Wim de Lobel, Hans Ramaer (May 2009). The last edition appeared with the number 180 in the winter of 2012.
