Debenhams is a British department store chain with over 150 stores in 26 countries on three continents.

History

It was founded in 1778 and today has 167 stores worldwide. The turnover in 2011 amounted to slightly more than 2.5 billion pounds and the company employs approximately 29,000 people. The company was founded originally as Flint & Clark, since 1813 when Clark & Debenham. The head office is still London. CEO to take over from Rob Templeman since September 2011 Michael Sharp. Online sales in the fiscal year 2010/2011 92.3 million pounds. Debenhams is represented in Germany with an online shop, but with local branches.
