Debra Hill
Debra Hill ( November 10, 1950 in Haddonfield, New Jersey; † 7 March 2005 in Los Angeles ) was an American screenwriter and film producer.
Life
Hill began her career as an assistant director and editor before she wrote in 1978 along with John Carpenter horror film Halloween ( 1978) and produced. This cooperation they sat in the sequels and films The Fog - The Fog (1980 ), Escape from New York (1981) and Escape from LA (1995 ) continued.
In 1985 she founded with her colleague Lynda Obst their own film production company Hill / Fruit Productions, which produced several films for Walt Disney Corporation in 1988.
They fought for a stronger role of women in the movie business and was a board member of the organization Women in Film, which characterized it in 2003 for their commitment.
Debra Hill died on 7 March 2005 in Los Angeles of cancer.
