Declan Galbraith

Declan Galbraith (born 19 December 1991 in Hoo St Werburgh, Kent, England ) is a British singer. His father Alec Galbraith is Scottish and his mother Siobhan Irish descent. He has a younger sister.

Life

Declan's grandfather played several instruments and took him often when he gave concerts. At the age of seven years Declan sang at the Charles Dickens Festival in Rochester. He started at talent contests and won in one year in 12 of 14 contests.

He was represented for the first time at a professional recording on a Christmas album alongside songs from Westlife, Elton John and Elvis Presley with a version of Walking in the Air. This was followed by appearances on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II at St Paul 's Cathedral, where he sang Amazing Grace and an Elton John concert in front of over 22,000 visitors. He also sang in December 2002 at the Odyssey Arena, Belfast, simultaneously connected to 80,000 children from all over the world - that was an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records.

This success eventually prompted the media mogul Haim Saban, Declan Galbraith take care of his Saban Music Group under contract. On 1 December 2006 was released by the label Star Watch ( Warner Music Group ) Declan's first international album, Thank You.
