Deep Sea Drilling Project

The Deep Sea Drilling Project ( DSDP ) was an American project for the study of plate tectonics and Paleozeanografie.

Method

The research ship Glomar Challenger used provided the opportunity to carry out drilling on the seabed of the deep sea, and so to win rock samples. For this, a thousand feet deep hole was drilled into the seabed, for example, at a water depth of several thousand meters.
