Deimos-1

Deimos -1 is a Spanish Earth observation satellite, which is operated by Deimos Imaging, the images directly, but also sold through Vetriebsvereinbarungen with other facilities such as Astrium and DMC International Imaging.

History

Deimos -1 was built by Surrey Satellite Technology on the basis of the satellite bus SSTL -100. Deimos -1 was placed in a 686 km high, sun-synchronous and near-earth orbit. The launch was conducted by ISC Kosmotras on 29 July 2009 at 18:46 UTC from the launch site 109/95 at Baikonur in Kazakhstan. The Dnepr -1 launch vehicle brought here also the satellite DubaiSat 1, UK- DMC 2, Nanosat 1B, AprizeSat -3 and AprizeSat -4 into space.

Optical instrument

The satellite has a life expectancy of five years. He carries a multispectral image capture device with a resolution of 22 meters and a swath width of 600 kilometers, which operates in the green, red and near infrared spectrum.
