Delaware Route 71

The Delaware State Route 71 (abbreviated DE 71 ) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Delaware, which runs in a north -south direction.

The State Route begins on U.S. Highway 13 south of Townsend and ends after 35 kilometers in Tybouts Corner on U.S. Highway 13 and the Delaware State Route 1

Course

After the turn of the DE 71 from U.S. 13 to extend in a northerly direction and passes through the center of Middletown St. Anne 's Episcopal Church, before the road crosses State Route 299 in the Main Street. To the north it meets U.S. Highway 301, which utilize parallel to the Norfolk Southern Railway a common route from that point. Southeast of the Summit airport they meet the State Route 896, which uses the common route for several kilometers. Shortly after the intersection, they leave the path of the Norfolk Southern Railroad and north of the airport branches off State Route 15 southbound from.

About two kilometers north of the Summit Bridge over the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal leaves the DE 71, the route of U.S. 301 and DE 896 in an easterly direction and circled in the port in the south of the Lums Pond State Park, before the road in Kirkwood again the route of the Norfolk Southern crosses. In the Wrangle Hill Road crosses State Route 72 and south of Bear meets the EN 71 on the Delaware State Route 7, before ending at U.S. 13 and State Route 1 after 35 kilometers.
