Delessite
Delessite is an iron-rich variety of the mineral clinochlore from the mineral class of silicates and Germanates, the Department of layer silicates ( phyllosilicates ) and the group of chlorites.
Delessite found mikrokristallinisch in scaly and short fiber individuals which form in the so-called melaphyre or amygdaloid - melaphyre, sometimes only the crusts from almonds and other geodes.
Delessite is olive green to blackish - green, 2-2.5 hardness, specific gravity 2.89. It consists of a hydrous double silicate of magnesia, protoxide of iron, alumina and iron oxide.

Was named the variety after the mineralogist and geologist Achille- Joseph Delesse.
