Delta BoÃ¶tis

Delta Bootis (short form δ Boo, Flamsteed designation 49 Bootis ) is the fourth brightest star in Bootes. It represents the left shoulder of the mythological Shepherd boat, on some celestial globes also his pastoral staff.

The star has spectral type G8 size 3. It is 117 light years from us and is a double star, which is clearly separable even in binoculars: angular distance about 105 ", luminosities 3.5 and 7.8 mag.
