Canis Majoris δ (Delta Canis Majoris, short δ CMa ) is a star with an apparent magnitude of 1.8 mag in the constellation Canis Major. The star bears the historical proper names Wezen / Alwazn / nature / Al Wazor; this is derived from the Arabic al - الوزن wazn " the weight ".

Canis Majoris δ is a yellow giant of spectral type F8 and has a surface temperature of 6200 Kelvin. He radiates 50,000 times stronger than the sun and has the approximately 200 times the solar radius. The star is about 1,600 light -years from the solar system.
