Delta Cassiopeiae

δ Cassiopeiae (Delta Cassiopeiae ) is an eclipsing binary Algol type with a period of 759 days. Its apparent brightness varies between 2.68 mag and 2.74 mag. δ Cassiopeiae belongs to the spectral class A3 and is about 100 light-years away ( Hipparcos database).

The star bears the historical proper names Rukbat / Ruchbah (Arabic ركبة, DMG Rukba, knee ') or Ksora.
