δ Ursae Minoris bears the proper name Yildun of Turkish yıldız, "star"; due to the precession of the earth was Yildun Turkish astronomer, as the North Star. Other spellings: Gildun, Vildiur, Yilduz. Another possible proper name is Pherkard.
