Dematic
Dematic is a leading global provider of solutions in the field of warehouse equipment, material handling, material flow and logistics. The holding company of the Group Dematic has its headquarters in Luxembourg. The headquarters of the European sales region is located in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, the headquarters in Offenbach am Main. The company is specialized with more than 4,000 employees in over 50 offices worldwide and operates in the logistics automation. Dematic has built more than 5,000 plants and generates a business volume of around 1 billion euros. The portfolio consists of individual products and complete turnkey solutions such as storage systems, conveyors and sorting systems or systems for manual and automatic picking.
Business
As one of the leading companies in its area Dematic covers the sectors of food and beverages, general merchandise, wholesale, manufacturing, food retail / food service, clothing and textile, direct sales and third party logistics ( Third Party Logistics ). In addition to individual products such as storage and order picking, storage and retrieval devices or light and Schwergutförderer integrated logistics systems are the main focus. This Dematic develops customized intra-logistics solutions that increase due to a high degree of automation, the efficiency of processes. In addition, the company markets software and IT solutions, (also based on SAP standard software ) for warehouse management, paperless picking ( Pick-by- Voice, Pick-by -Light, RFID) or for material flow applications. History
The company can look back on a long tradition: It begins in 1819 in Wetter (Ruhr) with the establishment of Demag, which is taken over in 1974 by Mannesmann. After the acquisition of the U.S. Rapistan Mannesmann Demag AG conveyor is formed. 1993 is added the Australian firm Colby, in 1997 the company is renamed Mannesmann Dematic AG. Four years later, Siemens took over the company and merged it with its own logistics activities for Siemens Dematic AG. 2006, includes the Siemens industrial and distribution logistics as Dematic GmbH & Co. KG. In the same year, the private equity investor Triton takes over the majority. The Dematic GmbH & Co. KG was with her partner, the Dematic participation Verwaltungs GmbH, merged on 1 October 2007 Dematic GmbH. Since 2010, the Dematic Europe GmbH is in charge responsible for the pan-European business, based in Frankfurt am Main, including Russia and CIS States, Brazil and South America, Middle East and Africa.
In 2010, Dematic took over the U.S. logistics provider HK Systems, headquartered in Wisconsin. HK Systems specializes in automated logistics systems and expanded its global portfolio of the Group Dematic.
On 28 December 2012, the sale of Dematic by Triton at AEA Investors LP ( " AEA " ) and Teachers ' Private Capital ( " TPC " ), the private investment department of the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan has been completed.
Dematic Group, headquartered Luxembourg has production plants in Europe, China, Australia and the USA and is represented in 35 countries on all continents.
