Demetrius Andrade

Cesar Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade ( born February 26, 1988 in Providence, Rhode Iceland ) is an American professional boxer. He was world champion of amateurs in 2007 and is the current professional welterweight world champion of the WBO light middleweight.

Amateur career

Demetrius Andrade is the son of an immigrant from the Cape Verde Islands in the USA family. His father, Paul Andrade became his first coach when he started boxing at the age of 6 years in 1994. Later, Daniel Keefe joined as coach. Demetrius Andrade developed very quickly into an outstanding boxer. Only 17 years old he was in his weight class, the welterweight to the best American boxers. Professional career

He moved in 2008 to the professional and is trained by David Keefe, Virgil Hunter and his father, Paul Andrade. After 18 consecutive victories he won in January 2013 against the Mexican Freddy Hernandez (30 wins - 3 losses ) and subsequently received a WBO world title chance against Saurbek Bajsangurow.
