Democratic Alliance Party (Albania)

The Democratic Alliance (acronym: AD; Albanian Aleanca Demokratike ) is a liberal party in Albania. It was created in 1992 when the former party chairman Neritan Ceka and others left the Democratic Party because they were dissatisfied with the authoritarian style of leadership of then-President Sali Berisha.

After the elections of 1997, the AD joined the coalition government under the leadership of a socialist. She had to win three seats in 2005 and was a member of the Albanian Parliament in this Legislaturperionde the opposition. In the 2009 elections, they could not gain more seats, not least due to a change in the law to the detriment of the small parties ( restrictive clause ).

2013 Eduard Abazi was elected successor of the party chairman Neritan Ceka.
