Democratic Party of Guinea – African Democratic Rally

The Democratic Party of Guinea - African Democratic collection ( Parti Démocratique de Guinée in French Rassemblement Démocratique Africain -, shortcuts or PDG PDG- RDA) is a political party in Guinea.

History

The party was founded as a branch of the Rassemblement Démocratique Africain (RDA ) in French Guinea. On October 19, 1958, the relations with the RDA, which demanded the other members of a closer union with the colonial power France deteriorated in June 1947. During the regime of Sékou Touré, the PDG was the only legal party in the newly independent country, under socialist orientation. After the fall of Touré 's regime in 1984, the PDG was first dissolved.

In 1992, the PDG- RDA was rebuilt, this time under leadership of El Hadj Ismael Mohamed Gassim Gushein. In the parliamentary election held on 30 June 2002, the party won 3.4% of popular votes and a total of 3 of the 114 seats.
