Dénes Berényi

Dénes Berényi ( born December 26, 1928 in Debrecen, † June 27, 2012 ) was a Hungarian nuclear physicist, member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and years of head of nuclear research activities ATOMKI. He has made ​​a name especially in the field of electron spectroscopy in physics.

Career

Berényi studied at the Lajos Kossuth University in Debrecen physics. He received his diploma in 1953, received his doctorate in 1959 and his habilitation in 1969.

In 1973 he was accepted as a corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. In 1985 he became a full member. He completed residencies at the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow (1959-1960) and at the Nuclear Physics Laboratory Oxford UK ( 1970-1971 ). From 1976 to 1991 he was director of the Institute for Nuclear Research of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences ATOMKI.

Family

Dénes Berényi was married to Dr. Livira Bodor since 1956. They had two children.
