Dennert Fir Tree

Dennert Fir, also Dennert'scher Tannenbaum, Dennert panel, Dennert spruce or mining fir called (in the resin ), is a blackboard, initially in the Upper Harz mining area of venues, traces and monuments of the mining industry, such as the Upper Harz Water Regale, or even to personalities of the mining history remembers. Meanwhile, it is also used for documentation of the other memorable sites in the resin, such as the Lower Harz Pond and grave system.

The first Dennert Fir was set up on 9 October 1949 in the vicinity of the former mine Sarepta in Clausthal. It was donated by the power and water industries GmbH Preussag AG, the former operator of the Upper Harz Water Regale. Namesake and founder was Oberbergrat Herbert Dennert ( 1902-1994 ). Dennert campaigned for the preservation of monuments mountain and wrote several publications on the Upper Harz mining.

The panels in the size of 75 × 80 cm are mostly made ​​of wood and have a characteristic shape of a stylized fir tree. They are painted yellow with green and black border. Under a mallet and iron symbol the type of locality is described and summarized important information. In the years from 1949 to 1981, the texts of Herbert Dennert were researched and written. The Upper Harz History and Museum Society cared for over 200 panels on an area of ​​100 km ².

Dennert Fir, which are established by municipalities or local branches of the Harz Club show in the top instead of the mallet and iron symbol, the emblem of the respective municipality. To care for example, the resin Club Club Branch Brown location about 60 panels (April 09).
