Dennis Leyckes

Dennis Leyckes ( born April 20, 1982 in Krefeld ) is a former German decathlete.

Life

In 2000 he won at the Junior World Championships in the decathlon with a championship record of 7897th In 2004, he won the all-around Ratingen meeting and took part in the Summer Olympic Games in Athens. His personal best score is 8310 points, which he achieved in Ratingen in June 2006. In the same year he took part in the European Championships in Gothenburg. At the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham in 2007 he finished fourth.

Leyckes launched for LAV Bayer Uerdingen / Dormagen (1998-2007, strain SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen ) and Erfurt LAC (2008-2009). His father Dieter Leyckes won the 1979 Silver Medal of the European Youth Championships in the decathlon. In 2008 he married Ulrike Urbansky.
